Meet Francesco

Soccer-geek/fanatic/trainer/coach/mentor – whatever the heck you wanna call me, but all you should know about me is I love football and all that comes with it.

Football has brought me life-long friendships, life-changing moments, and incredible experiences worth sharing.

Not only do I have a passion for The Beautiful Game, I also have a formal education in the study of Kinesiology (study of human movement). As a certified strength & conditioning coach through the internationally recognized NSCA, I work with footballers to enhance their physical performance, allowing them to maximize their potential on the field.

My mission is to share my knowledge, experiences, and passion for the game of football any way possible through articles here at Pitch Side Blog.

My Formal Experiences as a player:

  • Full-Time Vancouver Whitecaps MLS Professional Academy (Canada)
  • Canadian Youth National Team Member
  • NCAA Division 1 Soccer Scholarship (USA)
  • Semi-Pro & Full-Time Professional in Europe (Austria)

My Formal experiences as a coach:

  • 10+ Year Coaching Various Youth Soccer Players
  • Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (NSCA)
  • Certified Athletic Development Specialist (IYCA)
  • Certified Speed & Agility Coach (CSAC)
  • Co-Own and Operate SAP Training Systems

After my soccer career came to an end in 2020 due to COVID-19, I got stuck trying to figure out what to do next.

I was grateful to have so many experiences throughout my career, both on- and off-the-field, that shaped who I was as a person. How can I share my expertise, and benefit the next generation of footballers?

I knew I wanted to service others, and had valuable knowledge, experiences, and an obsessive-passion for football – but how do I share it?

That’s where I came up with the idea to start my own business, and service my community as a soccer trainer.

My life-long passion is football, but with that passion I strive to motivate, support, inspire and mentor our up-and-coming players, to give them the platform to develop, succeed, and enjoy the process.

I seek to support parents of youth footballers looking for advice in navigating their journey as a ‘soccer-parent’ and how best to support their hard-working, talented, big-dreaming son and/or daughter.

Finally, I strive to assist coaches, young and old, with or without the same experiences, so they too can help positively mentor and effectively guide their players through the correct developmental stages while having fun doing it!
